The comparison done nowadays on the use of mobile phones is with laptops which 20 years ago were mandatory tools for professionals.
However, given the convergence, the functions that were previously available only to be used on a computer (desktop or laptop) have become part of the cellphone that with the increase of its computing power and portability became a mandatory tool for all who are in the field of technology.
In fact, according to the survey, most companies, knowing the fact, place as part of the work tools provided to their engineers, technicians and others a smartphone.
But the research goes further, asking the professionals what they do with their phones that help them at work.
The basic point of the research was whether they looked on their cell phones for suppliers to the products they need and the answers were very interesting.
64.9% of respondents said they search for suppliers to their components on their cell phones regularly and 34% had done so in the last week.
Also relating these professionals, it was found that 41.7% used their cell phones to purchase the desired products for prototyping, 44% for research and development.
But, the most interesting, in this time of "making" is that 77.43% of the respondents said they use mobile their cell phones to buy components for do-it-yourselfers projects.
