This circuit is originally recommended as hearing aid or stethoscope. The output transducer is a high impedance magnetic earphone. The circuit has a very low current drain allowing the use of AA or AAA cells as supply. For crystal or piezoelectric transducer wire a 2k2 ohm resistor in parallel.
