12 V battery chargers provide higher unregulated voltage. With the regulator shown, obtained from an English magazine of 1976 it is possible to obtain 12 V from a battery charger. The circuit can be assembled with modern components and the changes we made. The others are common components and the 2N3055 must be equipped with a heatsink. The maximum current indicated is of the order of 2 A. The capacitor of 3,000 uF may be 3 300 uF or 4 700 uF.
