We found this circuit loader in a French magazine Electronique Radio Plans from July 1993. The circuit can still be assembled, since the components used are common. The circuit should be powered by 9 to 12 V x 1 A and transistor BD136 must be provided with a heat radiator. The circuit carries four elements of 500 mAh but can be adapted for NiMH batteries.
