This circuit makes use of germanium transistor, but can be mounted with a silicon transistor like the BC558 and even a BC548 if we reverse the polarity of the power. The transformer is a transistor driver. The circuit can be powered by two or four batteries. The circuit is from an old Argentine publication of the 70's.
