We find this circuit in an old American documentation, but it is perfectly current by its application and the used components. It is a general purpose timer and at the same time it can also function as a pulsator, an interesting function in some appliances such as blenders. The rectifier bridge can be replaced by common diodes and the integrated circuit is 555.
