The CMOS TLC555 can be gated from external CMOS circuits using the configuration shown here. The frequency of the signal when the control input goes to the high level is given by Ra, Rb and C, the same way as described in circuit CIR086E. The oscillator is on when the control input is in the “’1” logic level.
