This circuit turns on and off when a short pulse is applied by SW to the input of the first inverter. The capacitor can assume values between 0.22 µF and 2.2 µF. Other gates that function as inverters can be used in this circuit, including the Schmitt types, such as the 4093. The pulses can be produced by sensors, such as reed switches or relays, in robotic and mechanical applications.
