The purpose of the circuit of the figure is to control a servomotor remotely using a simple signal cable. Servo position adjustment is via a standard 5 k ohm (4.7 k ohm) potentiometer. Note that the circuit uses the NE544 which is a servo controlled integrated circuit. Note that circuit power can be supplied from different sources however, there must be a common ground for signal return.
