This circuit, from a 1988 publication, consists of a timer that activates a relay at the end of a time setting, and after the activation of the sequence of indicator LEDs. The relay is used to control the ignition system of a small rocket. The countdown has its speed adjusted by potentiometer P1. The ignition system is a nichrome filament powered by large batteries.
