This circuit is from an American magazine that no longer exists, Modern Electronics, in a February 1991 issue. The circuit consists of a telephone amplifier, where the signal is picked up by a coil, called "maricota" by Brazilian radio amateurs. This coil is made up of at least 2,000 turns of fine wire at the base where the phone rests. Of course, this circuit works with old analog line phones, but not with modern digital phones.
