In the figure we have an interesting circuit for those with a project that requires a sub-multiple frequency provided by a crystal. The crystal can have frequencies in the range of 100 kHz to 4 MHz and the trimmer can vary this frequency significantly to obtain the best swing point. The circuit power can actually be made with voltages between 5 and 15 Volts. Remember that with lower voltages, the higher frequency of oscillation also decreases. An interesting application for this circuit is in the generation of precision pulses for crystal controlled frequency meters, clocks, timers. The signal obtained in the outputs is not perfectly square presenting an active cycle that depends on the division.
