We found this circuit in an old Linear Technology manual. It makes use of the LTC1329 and can be powered by 2 to 3 V voltages. The circuit provides at its output 4 to 20 V voltages with current up to 20 mA digitally controlled. The circuit can be used as a shield as suggested by the diagram.
