This circuit is suggested by National Semiconductor and is based on the dedicated integrated circuit LM1830. The sensor is in contact with the liquid, in this case a stripped wire end. With 16 V power the circuit consumption is only 5.5 mA. Power can be supplied with voltages from 9 to 16 V and it directly excites a 64 ohm impedance speaker.
