This circuit is suggested by RCA and is based on a dedicated integrated circuit that is the CA3165. The circuit does not use platinum having instead an inductive pickup that, from L1 sends the trigger signals to the power circuit that drives the coil. Note that to obtain accurate pulses at the circuit input a silver mica capacitor is used.
