How do I use a neon lamp as a functioning indicator on an appliance panel powered by 12 V?
Neon lamps need at least 60 to 70 V to function, so, despite their extremely low consumption, they are not suitable for operating with low voltage devices. Its use as an indicator is for devices connected to the 110 V or 220 V network or with higher voltages, always using a current-reducing resistor. For low voltages, the best indicators are LEDs.
