“I set up a small AM transmitter to demonstrate it at a science fair at my school, using a regular radio as a receiver. However, there is a lot of interference, which makes its use difficult. What to do?"

In another doubt in this section we deal with the sensitivity of the AM band receivers (medium waves) to the noise and interference generated by fluorescent lamps, economical lamps and many other circuits that, at the height of the use of AM, did not exist. Thus, in environments where these sources of noise exist, the use of AM radios becomes difficult. In a demonstration at a science fair, this difficulty must be considered, using the pair (transmitter and receiver) placed at distances where the interference does not harm the demonstration.
