I have a lot of old electronic equipment like video games, computers, etc. and I would like to store them correctly so that they are not damaged. What is the best procedure?
Electronic equipment, even when switched off, is sensitive to two factors: heat and humidity. Heat affects parts that have electrolytes, accelerating their evaporation and moisture causes corrosion of metal parts and components, rendering them useless. Using silica gel and choosing a cool place is the best procedure. Inside sealed bags, so that moisture does not affect them, they must be conserved a lot. However, this does not prevent that, over time, electrolytic capacitors have their electrolyte evaporated, in which case they will be unusable, which will be verified when the device is turned on again.
