I am concerned that in many places we find automatic doors with presence sensors and in other places. Isn't the radiation from this equipment dangerous to our health?
Most of the presence sensors used in doors of markets, airports and other places are of the pyroelectric type, that is, they do not emit any form of radiation, working with the infrared radiation emitted by our body. On the other hand, there are other sensors, usually of the type that acts at a short distance that use infrared radiation, LEDs whose intensity is small, not causing any type of problem. There are still more sophisticated sensors that work with microwaves, but they are also not dangerous, since operating at small distances, the radiation intensity is too low to present danger.
