I can't hear my AM radio at home, especially when the computer and electronic lights are on. Is there any type of filter to prevent interference?
Soon, the analogical AM broadcasts will end, precisely because of this characteristic of being easily interfered and wasting the spectrum. Electronic lamps and computers have switching sources that produce a lot of noise that propagate through the power grid and even through the air when the house wiring works like an antenna that radiates them. If the radio is transistorized, interference can be avoided by finding locations where each level is lower. For radios connected to the power grid there are filters (we have several on the website), but otherwise it is difficult to get rid of them, especially in large cities.
