I have an old AM radio and would like to use it. However, even knowing that it is in good condition, the stations arrive with a lot of noise where I live. What to do?
With the advancement of technology placing in the homes an increasing number of devices that make use of switching sources such as LED lamps, computers, televisions, the level of noise in the power grid and even in the surrounding space has increased a lot. Thus, in most homes, AM radios that are the most sensitive to these noises operate with difficulty. Hence one of the reasons why this type of emission is gradually not being used. In large cities, reception is difficult, with improvement in isolated locations. For the first case, a filter or radio positioning away from sources of interference (which must be identified) can be attempted. For remote locations, an external antenna can be used.
