Can I replace the tracks on a printed circuit board on a common circuit with the sewing thread used in wearables? Do they have the advantage of not needing welding?
The sewing threads used in wearables are only suitable for less critical applications such as turning on LEDs and even so over short distances. This is because they have a relatively high electrical resistance and a low current capacity. For more critical applications such as a complex circuit they are not suitable and may cause malfunctions.
