I have a power supply that uses a BD135 transistor that burns because it usually gets very hot when I feed a higher current load. If I connect in parallel with this other BD135 transistor, will I solve my problem?
The problem of connecting transistors or diodes in parallel lies in the fact that they do not have exactly the same characteristics due to the tolerances of the manufacturing processes. Thus, we can never guarantee that the current is divided equally by the two. One way to improve this is by connecting a 0.22 ohm resistor, for example (for BD135 and TIP31), to the emitter of each, thereby improving the current distribution.
