Is mica a good electric conductor?
No. Mica is an excellent electrical insulator (dielectric), but a great conductor of heat. Thus, in addition to being used in the manufacture of capacitors we find it in the insulation of electricity in devices that work at high temperature but that need to transfer their heat without electrical contact. The most common example of mica application is in the resistance of the ironing irons in which electrically isolates the heating element but allows it to pass through the heat it generates. Mica insulators are also used between transistors and heat sinks. In the photo, mica insulators for electronic applications.
