This circuit is suggested by Texas Instruments in its Linear Circuits Applications. It is a voltage regulator for 2 V with an output current that reaches 1 A. The power transistor must be mounted on a heat radiator and the TIS183 can be replaced by a BC558. TIL431 is a voltage reference.
