I went to test a 40 W incandescent lamp measuring its resistance. Knowing that it is for the 110 V network, by the approximate calculations it should have something above 200 ohms. It gave a lower value. Is there a problem with the lamp?
Note that the resistance of the lamp filament when in operation is determined by its current and its voltage, that is, by the power. However, when the lamp is not working, therefore, the cold resistance is much less. Thus, when testing with the multimeter, the value found will always be lower than expected in operation.
