I need a circuit to control the direction of rotation of an AC motor (AC or AC). Can you help me?
The direction of rotation of AC motors is determined by the currents and positioning of the internal coils, which are not normally accessed externally and therefore cannot be reversed easily, as in universal motors. Thus ordinary AC motors cannot have the direction of rotation changed by an external circuit, but only the speed that can be controlled by the current. To achieve both speed and direction control, you need to work with a direct current motor. Speed can be changed by linear (current) or PWM (pulse width) controls and the direction of rotation by reversing the current direction.
